Junior Competition Rules - Minis

To be played in conjunction with the rules of the NSW Touch Association, with the following local rules to apply.

 

Regular Season

  1. All games will be ten-minute halves, no time off.

  2. Seven players allowed on the playing field at any given time, with a maximum of six reserves allowed. Unlimited interchange.

  3. Tap offs from the centre of the team in possession’s own 10m line to resume each half. Tap offs to also occur from the non-scoring team after a try.

  4. No markers allowed. All defending players to be back in line with the referee.

  5. Defending team is not allowed to move until the dummy half passes the ball or elects to run with it.

  6. The referee will call tag when there is any type of body contact between the attacking and defending player(s).

  7. Dummy half cannot score a try, and if tagged with the ball it will be a play the ball for the attacking team.

  8. If a player is tagged over any try line it is an automatic play the ball to the attacking team 5 metres out from the line and 1 tackle is used up.

Junior Competition Rules - Mods

To be played in conjunction with the rules of the NSW Touch Association, with the following local rules to apply.

 

Regular Season

  1. All games will be twenty-minute halves, no time off.

  2. Maximum of fifteen registered players per team.

  3. Eight players allowed on the field at any given time, with a maximum of six reserves allowed. Unlimited interchange. There must be a minimum of three females on the field at any given time. The only exception to this rule will be if there are less than three females available to play on the day. In these cases the females available must start the game, and if during the game they choose to leave the field, they cannot be interchanged with a male.

  4. All tries will be worth one point regardless of whether a male or female scores.

  5. Teams must start game with a minimum of five players. Any less will constitute a forfeit. Teams can only use players registered within their teams

  6. Tap offs from the centre of halfway to resume each half. Tap offs to also occur from the non-scoring team after a try.

  7. No markers allowed. All defending players to be back in line with the referee.

  8. Defending team is not allowed to move until the dummy half passes the ball or elects to run with it.

  9. The referee will call tag when there is any type of body contact between the attacking and defending player(s).

  10. Dummy half cannot score a try, and if tagged with the ball it will be a play the ball for the attacking team.

  11. Two competition points will be awarded to the winning team each round, zero points to the losing team.

  12. No extra time in competition rounds. If scores are level at full time, both teams receive one competition point each.

  13. Sin-Binned and sent off players are not to be replaced

  14. Two competition points will be deducted from a team that plays an unregistered player.

  15. If a player is tagged over any try line it is an automatic play the ball to the attacking team 5 metres out from the line and 1 tackle is used up.

  16. If a player is sent off she/he will receive an automatic one-week suspension further maybe depending on what the committee decide.
     

Semi-Finals, Finals and Grand Finals

  1. If scores are level after normal playing time, five minutes ONLY extra time GOLDEN POINT will be played.

  2. If scores are still level after these five minutes extra time, drop off will begin.

  3. During drop off, the referee will stop play after every two minutes where teams will drop one player until there is a result. E.g. Two minutes into golden point, play will be stopped, match will be six on six. Four minutes into golden point, play will be stopped, match will be five on five. Drop off continues until it is down to a minimum of 3 on 3 until there is a result. (2) Substitutions are allowed once a player has dropped off.

Senior Competition Rules

To be played in conjunction with the rules of the NSW Touch Association, with the following local rules to apply.

 

Regular Season

  1. All games will be twenty-minute halves, no time off.

  2. Maximum of fifteen registered players per team.

  3. Seven players allowed on the playing field at any given time, with maximum of six reserves allowed. Unlimited interchange.

  4. Teams must start game with a minimum of five players. Any less will contribute a forfeit. They have five minutes from commencement of game to field a team. Teams can only use players registered within their teams.

  5. Kick offs to resume each half. Tap offs from the centre of halfway from the non-scoring team after a try.

  6. Teams kicking off cannot retain possession of the ball unless it has touched an opposition player.

  7. For the purpose of kickoffs, the try line also acts as the dead ball line. If the ball goes dead in goal from a kick off, play is to resume with the receiving team via a play-the-ball ten metres out from their own line.

  8. One marker allowed. Must remain one metre back from where the ball is player to be on side. Cannot move until dummy half has taken one step.

  9. Where the attacking player is tagged it is the marker’s responsibility to mark square on to where the ball is to be played. Referee will nominate the mark if they attacking player has over-run the mark.

  10. Defending Team can move up in defence as soon as the ball has touched the ground in the ruck.

  11. The referee will call tag when there is any type of body contact between the attacking and defending player(s).

  12. Dummy half cannot score a try, and if tagged with the ball it will be a play the ball for the attacking team.

  13. No extra time in competition rounds.

  14. Sin-Binned and sent off players are not to be replaced

  15. 2 points will be deducted from a team that plays an unregistered player or fails to provide a referee.

  16. Loss of bond money will occur when teams fail to provide referee. see bond agreements.

  17. If you are tagged over any try line it is an automatic play the ball to the attacking team 5 metres out from the line and 1 tackle is used up.

  18. If a player is sent off she/he will receive an automatic one-week suspension further maybe depending on what the committee decide.

  19. The age of the referee be at least 17.
